* Good to drive and reasonably priced to run
* Roomy enough for a family to travel comfortably
* Looks like its more expensive sibling, the Passat

* Diesel engines are noisier than we'd like
* Resale values won't hold up as strongly as the Golf
* Ride is a little firm over bumpy roads
